Brandon Hille is your Open Head Coach, bringing 24 years of experience and a lifetime of passion to the mat.
He started wrestling at the age of 5, competing for the Wakeeney Wrestling Club, Trego High School, and Simpson College.
Brandon's extensive coaching career includes time at Russell High School, Trego High School, and the Bonner Springs Wrestling Club. His favorite memories range from the personal thrill of wrestling at Fargo Nationals to the pride of coaching his brother to his second state title and his son to his first state qualification.
A fan of Dan Gable and inspired early on by his mentor, Wyatt Frohling, and his Uncle Dave Hille, Brandon knows the value of tough training. His go-to technique is the Fireman’s carry/High C, and you might hear "No More Tears" by Ozzy Osbourne playing in his practice room.
Outside of wrestling, Brandon is an avid outdoorsman who loves hunting and fishing, and he’s a dedicated cook who enjoys everything from processing wild game to making his own sourdough.
Thank you, Coach Hille, for your dedication! Your wrestlers love having you in their corner!

Brandon Jobe is the Bonner Springs High School Head Coach and a foundational figure in the Bonner Springs wrestling community, having dedicated his life to the sport since starting to wrestle at age 5. His extensive athletic journey took him through the Piper Kids Club, Piper High School, Labette Community College, and Fort Hays State University. This is his 20th year coaching, including 17 years as the BSHS Head Coach, during which he also spent 17 years coaching Clark Middle School and 7 years with BSWC. His favorite memories include watching his son, Judson, make the state finals and witnessing any athlete achieve a hard-earned goal. Coach Jobe's favorite athlete move is the Low Single; he credits his success to mentors like Eric Akin and Jody Thompson, and his ultimate competitor is Jordan Burroughs—a "man of FAITH AND FAMILY." When not in the wrestling room (where MUSTARD is the song of choice!), he's devoted to family time, coaching his kids' sports teams, fly fishing, and golf. Coach Jobe has been incredibly influential in the lives of many BSWC athletes, and they are blessed to have him in their corner.
Coach Jimmy Vogel started wrestling at the age of 10 and has been coaching for 22 years. His favorite wrestling memory is winning a high school state title.
He currently serves as an Assistant High School Coach at Bonner. Coach Vogel's favorite move is the half, and his all-time favorite wrestler is Dan Gable. He looked up to wrestling mentors Tom Ballard, Dale Taylor, and Bob Vaughan.
When he's not on the mat, Jimmy enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. His go-to song for the wrestling room is "Lunatic Fringe."
Coach Joe Tapia is a testament to dedication, having been with the club since 2007 and officially coaching for nearly 5 years. Though he never wrestled himself, Joe jumped in to learn the sport, earning his coach's card and becoming an invaluable mentor.
His favorite memories are centered on family, specifically watching all four of his sons wrestle and the proud moment when his son Jackson won a state title. Coach Tapia's favorite technique to see executed is the duck under.
He looks up to all the coaches he's worked with and learned from over the years, and he names all of his sons as his favorite wrestlers of all time. Outside of the wrestling room, Joe enjoys spending time with his family.
